Jeff Hardy, Michael
.:.:[ Foreword ]:.:. The Hardy Boyz were quite possibly the most gifted high-fylers this sport has ever seen. There were teams that try and match their uncanny and unmatchable skill, however, they'll never duplicate. Wrestling has lost it's edge. No longer are fans entertained by the matches, but they are now entertained by storylines and backstage politics. Now, flying solo, Jeff Hardy works to return that in-ring entertainment value of wrestling. Without his brother, Jeff Hardy has plans to go all the way to the top of the federation, and not only be seen as the most reckless and electrifying wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation, but also the undisputed best wrestler in the world. Jeff is a fan of the old way the wrestling business worked. Where the fans were entertained by the wrestling, and not the senseless storylines they participate in. This is evident in his wrestling style. This is evident in the fact that he is willing to die in every match they participate in just to entertain the everyday fan. This is the way wrestling should be. Jeff Hardy may very well be one of the smallest men on the roster, but his passion for the sport goes unmatched by even the largest wrestler on the roster. Ladies and gentlemen, Jeff Hardy is indeed...
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Jeff?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. ... What is it?
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Jeff Hardy... I'm here to get an interview with you in regards to your recent signing with the company, and your upcoming opportunity to capture the World Title here in the World Wrestling Federation.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. ... ... Fine. [ Jeff tosses the controller to his right, then stands, and approaches Michael Cole. ] Okay, what do you wanna know?
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Well, tell our viewers, what goals do you plan to accomplish while in this federation?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Uh, Cole... This question sucks. Can't you come up with something better? After all, you are an interviewer.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Actually, I think that's a good question for someone who has just joined the federation! What's wrong with it?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Okay. I'll answer it, but let's be real this question does suck, but here goes... Over the course of my career in wrestling, I have been relatively quiet. I went out to the ring, took care of business with my brother, then prepared for the next trip to the ring. Well, this time around, I plan to make a little noise, and I'm not talking about the usually noise I make in the ring. This time, man, I have a lot to say and at the age of 22, you can bet that what I have to say is nothing short of good. So, I've answered half of your question. One of my goals is to make myself known on high levels, and the only way to reach those higher levels in wrestling nowadays is with the gift of gab. It's a shame isn't it? Nah, not really. When I was with Matt, we actually reached those higher levels in terms of wrestling skill. Despite the fact that we didn't entertain with the microphone before, we still entertained. Swantons, Moonsaults, whatever. The whole package is there, and with it, I will make waves. Now, with those great wrestling skills, you add the ability to rock the crowd with the microphone, and what do I achieve? The sky's the limit, and that's what I want to reach. Man, I want to be the best wrestler in not only the history of the federation, but the wrestling business. The World Wrestling Federation isn't near what is once was, so it gives a guy like me the opportunity to achieve something more than just the tag team titles. That's why I'm here, without my brother. It's time I do things for Jeff Hardy. It's time I reach my full potential. I get the chance to truly show everyone here and all the fans and even the people I left behind in North Carolina to pursue this dream to win the World Title, that I am far more than just a high flying risk-taker, by winning the World Title. I must defy all odds. I must win...
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. We'll get to the Royal for the World Title in just a second. Right now, could you elaborate on the subject of you leaving your brother to pursue a singles career.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. In a way, Michael Cole, we left each other. Don't get the idea that I left him, because that's not the case. He's ready and willing to take on a singles career just like I am. I'm just making the move faster than he is. I'm taking the initiative. Right off the bat, Cole, I'm going to the top. Where Matt ends up is his business. I'm Jeff Hardy, and Jeff Hardy alone. Not Jeff Hardy of The Hardy Boyz.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. So, why did you two decide to part ways?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Honestly... We're done with the Tag Team Scene! Michael Cole, we've been doing this for far tooo long! Cole, do you know who I look up to as an up and coming wrestler... I look up to the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. The beginning of his career was devoted to tag team wrestling. After that, about a few years later, he's considered the best wrestler in the history of sports entertainment. That's where I wanna be!
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. So is Matt... Marty Jannetty?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. [ Jeff laughs. ] Well I damn sure ain't! I want to be a top player in the World Wrestling Federation, and I'll put everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I have on the line in order to accomplish this!
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Okay, now I want you to tell us about this Rumble for the World Title.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. What do you mean?
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Tell me about your opponents...
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. I guess you want me to rant on the guys on the roster, right? Well, let's start with Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit will do all he can to win. There's no doubt in my mind of this. I mean, if he doesn't, he has no reason for being in this business. And with his short comings, he'll do the best he can. I'm sure of it. The problem is, his short comings outweigh his advantages. What are his advantages? He's... Well... There is... Okay, no advantages. What are his short comings? Ah, well, where do I start? He is a short little guy. Short and stubby. Yeah, and he's missing a tooth. Doesn't he make enough money to have that fixed? Ah, whatever. Then there's the fact that he's not too quick. You'd think that since he is five foot flat that he'd be extremely quick, but I'm faster than he is. I'm smarter than Benoit. In short, I'm better than Benoit. I'm a better athlete. I'm a better wrestler. He can toot his own horn about being the best technical wrestler in the wrestling world today all he wants, but I have gone against better technical wrestlers than him in the past, and I have come out on top. Rather than thinking that Benoit's technical wrestling is going to be a large factor in this match, think about the fact that my raw quickness and resiliency are going to be the biggest factors in this match up. Actually, they're going to be the reason why I win. I will win. That's bottomline. I can make that promise, because I know if I walk out of that match without the World Title, I'm walking back to the tag team world. It's now or never, and I will do WHATEVER I can to win this match, and take my place on the top of this federation. Benoit, this will be good for you. To go toe to toe with a guy like me. It's good for a guy like you, who has aspirations to be better, to observe the best, but it's even better to let him take you to school. Benoit, at BackLash, you have plans to win the World Title... I can't wait to see how you fair against a guy who WILL NOT STOP!
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Well Jeff, well said. But what about... [ Michael pauses, then looks as if he's searching for a name... ] The Undertaker!
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. The Undertaker. Why do I feel like I'm wasting my time. This guy has been dead for a long time now. And no, I don't mean him physically, I'm talking about his career. [ Jeff turns to the camera and continues. ] It's time to go, Taker. The show is over. Go home. You've been around for like a decade, or maybe even longer. He's had a lot of chances to be something greater than he is. Be it World Championship Wrestling, The World Wrestling Federation, or Japan, whatever. You name it, he's been there. Now, our paths cross, here in the WWF. Taker, what are you plans? What do you have up your sleeve? I'm curious as hell to figure it out, because you're pushing forty now. You're a regular Hogan or a Flair. What more can you give to the sport? More Choke slams or over exaggerated powerbombs? I have watched you move list shrink considerable after every year you've been active in wrestling. C'mon Taker, where does it stop? When do you say enough is enough? Do you want to end up like Hogan or Flair? I think it's time I put you out, for good, since you're to stubborn to retire like a good old person is suppose to do. Now, don't feel bad. If Hogan and Flair were here, I would personally take them out of their misery. But they're not here, Taker, but you obviously are. You're worn out, Taker. Your time to sit is coming. Let me push you to get you there a little faster. Perhaps pushing you over the top rope? Yeah, that's the type of pushing I'm into. I'm looking to end you, because I'm tired of seeing you around. You're size is always over exaggerated and so it your wrestling skill. I'm tired of that shit! I'm tired of you! I'm looking for you in the rumble old man. Make sure you're looking over your shoulder. I hope I can get to you before someone else takes you out, because, no one really likes you, so I doubt I'm the only guy who wants to take you out of the match.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Tazz?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. I don't know much more about the guy than the way he wrestles. When it comes to what he has endured throughout his career in this federation, I could care less. That goes for every other wrestler here, actually. Anyway, a New Yorker, 'eh? Tough 'eh? I'm not impressed. You see I'm from North Carolina and I'm as tough as they come, but much more goes along with that package, man. Doesn't this federation have any pride? What kind of promotion allows a guy like Tazz into their federation? If I were in charge, the closest he would get to the ring is cleaning the stands after a big WWF event. If not, I'll pay him to lose, so I can get some actual talent over. Not that he could help losing. It's not like when I give him the money to lose, he'd actually be throwing the match. He couldn't win it if he tried. But I figure, if you're going to suck, you might as well get paid for it. Just ask Tazz's mother. She has a mouth like vacuum cleaning, and do you think for a second she doesn't collect her money, right after she takes care of the "job"? You bet your ass she does! Maybe that should be Tazz's new profession! I'll get him started on the right track come BackLash.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. ... Jeff... I know I haven't heard you talk much, but... Is it just me, or are you a little brash and arrogant?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Am I brash or arrogant? What kind of question is that?!
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Jeff... I just asked because I've never seen you like this before. Yeah, you sound like Jeff Hardy, but you don't really sound like Jeff Hardy... Do you get what I'm saying?
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. ...
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Nevermind... Let's go on to Kane.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Okay, and then there's the Big Red Retard, Kane. Hmm... I have to be honest, he could be a problem. The solution? The Swan-Ton! Always remember, Cole. Since Kane has become more "human", he's lost his edge. I remember a time when this guy would kick out of anything, or get up from anything. He was that powerful. He was incredible. Now that's he's learned how to talk, he's lost the edge that made him the Big Red Machine. He's weaker than he's ever been before. He'll come to realize quickly that I have never been stronger. I have come back to wrestling in top form. I'm already the best damn wrestler in this place, so the following is really bad news to a guy like Kane... I get better and better after every day that passes. You see, if you're not getting better, you're getting worse. That's why Mr. Ass can always elevate himself to the next level, and defy all odds. Hell, I'm the best damn thing that's ever happened to the sport, and I just get better and better. Damn... I'm good. Kane, I'm sorry pal, but Mr. Ass has hit the seen. This is my federation now. Cancel any plans of a take over you may have had, because there's no way you can make good on it with me here. This all belongs to me now, boy, and so will that World Title when it's all said and done.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Now, I KNOW there's a difference in you. To be honest... As crazy as this may sound... You do sound a little like The Heartbreak Kid.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Then I'm on the right track, Michael Cole. You say that like it's a bad thing.
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. It's not, I know, but...
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Then what's the problem?
.:.:[ Michael Cole ]:.:. Forget it... Jeff, thanks for your time. I believe your future here is going to be prosperous and... Interesting as well.
.:.:.:[ Michael Cole leaves, and Jeff shuts the door behind him. He places his hands on his side, then exits the room as well. The scene re-opens on stage at WWF New York, where we find a nearly packed house of screaming fans, in anticipation of the next superstars to hit the stage. Suddenly, those infamous drums beats of the Hardy Theme Song blares through the speakers, as almost simultaneously, the fans hit their feet in cheer. Out comes Jeff Hardy, electrifying the crowd as usual, with his enthusiastic suicide salute, and other trademark gestures. He makes his way to the center of the stage as the lights dim, and the crowd's cheering dies down a bit. Jeff calls for a microphone as one of the technicians look at him funny, as if he's not supposed have one. Jeff motions aggressively for the microphone, and a technician finally tosses one to him. Jeff catches it with one hand, then hooks them onto his shirt. He raises the microphone and says... ]:.:.:.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. New York, New York... It's time to get X-Treme!
.:.:.:[ The crowd screams, especially the women, Jeff raises the mic to his mouth and says... ]:.:.:.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. I'm sure you all are a bit surprised at the fact that I'm actually saying something. Don't be. As a matter of fact, get used to it. I've been silent for long enough. It's time I speak my mind. It's time I show the wrestling world that I'm a hell of a lot more than an incredible wrestler with risk taking moves. Definitely. I can trash talk with the best of 'em. At twenty two in this business that demands that from me, I had better be able to. But let's skip all of this. You know me. This isn't an introduction, just a change. I love changes. It's evident in the way I wear my hair, the clothes I wear each time you see me, and the new moves I use every chance I get. I'm The Innovator of Offense, and I'm the best at what I do. I'm not one of those goes who's going to tell are guy twice my size that I'm going to kick his ass. That's not me. Look at me. If I said I was going to totally destroy another wrestler, would you believe me? Well, maybe would if it was Taka, Funaki, or one of those little guys. But in most cases, I'm dealing with guys that tower over me. I don't think it would be in my best interests to tell these guys we're going to take them apart in the ring. Now, defeating my opponent, be it five six, six five, or seven six, I can say. One way or another, I'll beat any man or men on the roster, because I find a way to win. That's what you can expect when you're dealing with Jeff Hardy. I'll never back down from a fight, or duck competition, so when you step into the ring with me, be ready to put everything on the line, because anything less is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH! My goal? Total domination of the World Wrestling Federation. What else is there? There's more. There's fame and fortune. There's women!
.:.:.:[ The women scream at that little comment, which brings a smile to Jeff Hardy's face. ]:.:.:.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Oh, the women... Seeing a different side of Jeff Hardy? You should. I'm practically a college student, who isn't at college. The ring is where I take those risks that those fraternities in colleges take every week of the school year. I skipped college to pursue a dream. We have a achieved that dream, which is to be a professional wrestler. Now, I want more. That's only natural. There shouldn't be a competitor on this planet who doesn't want to get better, or when they reach a certain level, work even harder to reach the next. At BackLash, I have the opportunity to reach the next level. I have the opportunity to be the World Wrestling Federation Champion!
.:.:.:[ The crowd cheers. ]:.:.:.
Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Now, I have just
three wrestlers I want to mention, who'll be in the ring with me,
fighting for the same purpose, the World Championship... Those wrestlers
are Edge's Little Brother,- Well, I'll get to the two others in a
second. Edge Little Brother’s
in his big brother’s shadow. Edge is regarded as one of the best
wrestlers to ever grace an RWA ring. I have seen the endorsements Edge
has received, despite how meaningless and limited they are, that still
tops his little brother’s who has none. I hear of Edge scoring a role
in next Highlander flick, but I haven’t heard anything about his
little brother. Is he in his brother’s shadow, or is he just holding
him back? Who’s to say? The actions of a jealous brother are quite
erratic, and they can snap at any time. What can be going on in the head
of Edge’s little brother? Does he think that now is the time for him
to make a name for himself? The Rumble will give Edge’s little brother
the chance to make a little noise in the federation. Maybe make it so
that people like me, who are where he wants to be, can
actually remember his name. What is his name? Ah, it doesn’t really
matter now does it? If I attempt to remember it now, I’ll forget right
after Rumble, simply because, well, he’s nobody in particular.
What’s so great about Edge’s little brother? He’s small, so
you’d think he’d be a high flyer, but in the ranks of being a high
flyer, he pales in comparison to me. I'm the best high flyer in the
game! I AM the best high flyer here. Hands down THE BEST! Now... I have
to show the world that I'm not only the best high flyer, but the best
wrestler in general. Edge’s little brother World Champion? Eww… Get
.:.:.:[ Jeff shakes his head and laughs... ]:.:.:.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. Let's move onto the second of the three wrestlers... Hollywood Hogan! I can remember back when I was about six or seven years old, and I used to watch this guy on television. Back then, wrestling wasn't huge, and Hogan was responsible for it's rise. He was great. He WAS great. But now... Now he's washed up. He's a shell of his former self. Now while I was a fan of Flair, The Ultimate Warrior, and of course, The HB Kid, who came much later, I respected Hogan for what he did for wrestling. Now... I have a different outlook. Everytime I see Hogan strap on the boots and wrestle a guy who hasn't even won a title, AND LOSE, more and more of the respect I had for him withers away. I know I'm the not the only one who feels this way. In my opinion, it's time for the old timer to walk away from the game. It's a game for the young guys now. We appreciate what he's done for us. He paved the way. He's one of the sole reasons wrestling is one of the hottest things in America, and throughout the world for that matter. Hogan's job is done... But staying around, he just takes away from all that he has accomplished. The Rumble will be no different. I will win this Rumble, because I have to win this Rumble. Therefore, once again, the great Hollywood Hogan will lose... When does it end? Hopefully after everything I have said comes true at BackLash. Hopefully, the humiliation of having a twenty-two year old guy winning the richest prize in the business will put the old timer in his place, and make him realize that his time is up. Well, whatever. If he retires, EXCELLENT! I'll probably never get sick to my stomach in disgust for watching a wrestling match another day in my life. If not, well- It doesn't matter! I'll be the World Champion!
.:.:.:[ Jeff laughs as the crowd cheers. Jeff seems to be having a lot of fun. ]:.:.:.
.:.:[ Jeff Hardy ]:.:. And finally, we have Justin Credible... What's so incredible about this guy? [ Jeff pauses, trying to think of something. ] NOTHING! There's not a damn thing incredible about Justin Credible, other than his name... And to tell you the truth, it isn't all that incredible. Let me break some things down to you. The one thing I like about being on my own now is having my own identity. I am my own man! I am the King of Krash! The Sultan of Smash! Wanna know why? Well, you could 'a', take my word for it when I tell you that I'm the most electrifying and reckless wrestler in sports entertainment today, oooorrrrr.... YOU CAN TRY ME! Credible, I'm Credible. You can trust the Show Stealer. That's right, wanna know why I'm the Show Stealer? Well, I have a knack for out performing any other person scheduled for a match on the card. I could open the show, and STILL put on the best show. That's why. And we've always known this. We've always known that I'm a great entertainer. Well, now that you're hearing me talk, and electrify the crowd almost as well as I do while in the ring, pulling off a Corkscrew or a Swan-Ton, you know that I far more impressive than previously thought. Don't get used to it though, because at BackLash, I'm raising the bar. You'll see that I'm far more impressive in the ring as well, when I topple some of the greatest wrestlers in the history in the sport like The Undertaker, Triple H, and well... Hollywood Hogan. Credible, you don't even fall in that category. You're nothing and nobody, going nowhere and fast. I'm Jeff Hardy, Credible, and I'm not just the coolest, I'm not just the best, NO SIR, I'm just...
.:.:.:[ Jeff Hardy tosses the microphone into the crowd as they hit the roof with cheer. Jeff Hardy is going into this match-up fearless, as usual. What does this mean for WWF Roster? What about Matt Hardy? Looks these questions and more will be answered this at BackLash! Stay Tuned! ]:.:.:.
